Wire feed units offer durability and mobility
Kemppi, whose UK company Kemppi UK is based in Bedford has launched two new wire feed units, MF 29 and MSF 57, for its 3-phase 230V/440V FastMig Basic and Synergic MIG/MAG welding systems
Welding kit contributes to record-breaking yacht
High-technology welding equipment supplied by Kemppi (UK) to VT Shipbuilding has helped to build the Ron Holland designed Mirabella V, the world's largest single-masted yacht.
Lightweight welder can go anywhere
The Minarc 151 is a new 110V lightweight, MMA/scratch start TIG inverter welding machine.
The internal digital communications is ten times faster than earlier designs helping improve weld quality.
It is available in basic and synergic MIG and MAG versions and is for demanding industrial welding environments.
There are six power sources (three basic and three synergic), including 300, 400 and 500A models providing welding voltages of 10 to 42V.
Models are claimed to be 70% lighter and 10% more power efficient than existing step switched machines.
The maximum power source weight is 36kg for the 500A model.
The Fastroot software for root pass welding provides control of root closure, suitable for ferrous and stainless steel pipe root welding where MMA is used.
This welding process is available on synergic models only.
The wire feed units, all weighing less than 14kg, are ergonomically designed and include two double-skinned, heavy duty, recyclable plastic bodied models, with the basic models having no electronics in the wire feed units.
All wire feed units include heavy duty wire feed mechanisms, which have high torque motors with a precision gearbox and drive.
All models include easy-to-read digital meters on either the power source or the wire feed unit depending on the model.
Softarc ignition and filler wire ball removal software reduces spatter and post weld cleaning time.
Synergic machines have various weld programmes supporting most filler wire and gas combinations.
They can also include MMA, MIG and MAG arc control with crater fill and hot start functions.
Hydrocool pump technology is claimed to be 50% smaller than earlier pumps with a 30% increase in pressure capacity and an 85% weight reduction to help reduce dissipated coolant heat levels.
It can also be used with ethanol mixtures.
All Fastmig machines include the firm's isolated cooling system, which separates the cooling airflow between the power and control electronics reducing dust and dirt contamination.
It also reduces routine servicing and maintenance.
