The V Panel HMI is a new line of scalable panel PC systems that combine high performance and low power consumption.
Kontron has expanded its line of scalable panel PC systems with the new high-performance V Panel, an HMI in panel format with processor capacities up to Intel Pentium M 1.1GHz, which is distinguished by high performance and low power consumption.
The core computer of the modular V Panel is based on ETX technology, thus enabling scalable CPU performance up to Intel Pentium M 1.1GHz with corresponding voltage and temperature monitoring.
The integrated innovative cooling concept allows passive, fanless cooling with maximum processor performance.
The display dimensions are scalable from 10.4 to 19in; in addition, up to 112 freely programmable function buttons and 16 special buttons can be integrated into the display frame, depending on the display size.
The system is also available in a stainless-steel version.
In addition to Ethernet, the new V Panels also offer a choice of CANopen, DeviceNet, Profibus or CAN fieldbuses on-board for cost-efficient connection to the most common field buses.
These systems thus offer reasonably priced connections both for classic field buses and future Ethernet connection at the field level.
With a variety of interface variants, such as four serial ports, three USB ports (front and rear), two PS/2 interfaces, one LPT port, as well as LAN 10/100 and LAN 100/1000Base-Tx, it is easy to adapt functionalities to customer requirements.
Two free PCI slots and an optional PCMCIA slot are available for expansion.
Integrated watchdog and power management functions complete the package.
The 100% industrial-grade HMI has a maximum RAM of 1024Mbyte and CompactFlash up to 2Gbyte, and can be optionally equipped with a hard drive.
Windows XP, Windows XP Embedded, as well as Linux and Embedded Linux operating systems are supported.
The V Panel series systems are computer supported, compact, high performance human-machine interfaces for tough industrial demands.
Optimal shock, vibration and temperature resistance, as well as resistance against increased UPS conditions are a matter of course.
In addition, Kontron guarantees long-term availability over five years with complete system responsibility.
