E-book service aids universities
JISC member institutions will be able to subscribe to a collection of resources in science, technology and engineering.
Knovel has entered into a three-year agreement with JISC Collections to provide UK academic institutions with access to Knovel's engineering resources.
JISC member institutions will now benefit from the addition of Knovel to the JISC Collections portfolio of resources and will be able to subscribe to a collection of resources in science, technology and engineering.
Knovel aids academic teaching, learning and research by providing reliable resources that are relevant to the subjects taught in academic institutions, and by enabling precise enquiries to be fulfilled using the optimised search and interactive tools.
John Dooley, Vice President of Sales at Knovel said: "JISC Collections provides a significant service to UK academic libraries and we are proud of the endorsement from JISC that Knovel is an important resource to universities in the UK and to academic institutions in general".
"We look forward to welcoming further UK institutions to our growing list of prestigious academic subscribers".
Liam Earney, Collections Team Manager at JISC Collections said "We are delighted to be able to offer universities and colleges in the UK access to a high-quality and dynamic selection of science and technology e-books, which deliver on functionality and content specific to users' needs".
"Through the use of the JISC Model License, it will be possible for undergraduate and postgraduate students, teaching staff and researchers alike to use Knovel in a variety of ways to enrich education and research".
"For example content can be incorporated within teaching materials and extracts from these resources can also be used in student assignments and research projects".
