Korenix delivers industrial Gigabit switches
Korenix has released an innovative industrial Gigabit switch series designed for copper wired Ethernet networks needing Gigabit switching performance that can handle high throughput network demands
The JetNet 5010G industrial Gigabit managed switch range features a 7-port 10/100 Fast Ethernet plus three combo Gigabit slots.
The JetNet 3010G/3010GT range comprises industrial Gigabit unmanaged switches.
These solutions are suitable for a higher bandwidth media networking environments and provide a gradual migration to Gigabit speeds for industrial automation.
The JetNet 5010G/3010G equips three combo Gigabit slots, three small form factor plug-in SFPs (mini-GBICs slots to accommodate 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX or 100BASE-FX connectivity) that can connect to fibre cabling as an uplink for a flexible Gigabit Ethernet backbone.
The other two ports connect to the Gigabit Fibre Redundant Ring.
The fibre SFP is modular with various ranges of fibre transceivers and is geared for tailor made industrial applications.
The three RJ-45 Gigabit copper ports are also available for connections to Gigabit devices.
The switch will automatically detect the Gigabit cable connections priority for each Gigabit slot.
The special fanless mechanical design adapts the thermodynamic technique to ventilate heat generated from Gigabit Ethernet modular efficiently.
The form factor with an inward curvature on the sides drives air flow through the enclosure which helps carry the rising heat toward the top ventilation holes to let the chimney effect flows become effective.
An aluminium extrusion case with industrial arts quality is light weight, rigid and offers excellent thermal conductivity.
A fin type design extends surface heat dissipation and assures the units can be operated in harsh industrial environments.
It is critical for industrial applications that the network remains non stop.
JetNet 5010G supports Rapid Super Ring technology providing network redundancy with fast failover time.
JetNet 5010G also provides users with many advanced management features.
It can be configured smartly by SNMP or console CLI or web browser.
Network administrators can define event notification to be sent via email, SNMP trap, system log or relay output.
To optimise network traffic, network administrators can segment ports into different VLANs, or filter multicast traffic by IGMP Snooping.
