power
The revolutionary K3VL medium-pressure pump has proved the perfect fit for the new Generation 7 range of articulated dump trucks recently launched by Terex Equipment.
Kawasaki's revolutionary K3VL medium-pressure pump has proved to be the perfect fit for the range of brand new "Generation 7" 25, 27 and 30t articulated dump trucks recently launched by Terex Equipment Kawasaki's K3VL pump plays a key role in the truck design and provides the hydraulic power to the cylinders that control the articulation of the cab, the engine fan drive, the hydraulic braking system and the dumping motion for the trucks' load

New standards for efficiency in hydraulic pumps
Kawasaki's revolutionary K3VL medium-high pressure, hydraulic pump has been released in a full range of sizes for industrial and mobile applications.
Load sensing valve aimed at mobile hydraulics
A more efficient and responsive load-sensing valve is now available from Kawasaki Precision Machinery incorporating an integrated compensator that offers superior feel and control and performance
Terex has made use of the pump's highly responsive load sensing control option providing additional power savings compared to conventional designs.
Significant improvements in hydraulic system efficiency have been achieved resulting in considerable savings in fuel consumption and operating cost.
The pump's greater durability, increased pressure capability, extremely compact installation envelope and rapid, highly stable response times were all key features for consideration by Terex in the selection process.
"Having examined several manufacturers' offerings, the Kawasaki K3VL pump was found to be the only one that satisfied all the pressure and flow requirements and is fitted to all three trucks", said Lionel Curtis, Product Manager - ADT at Terex.
"The pump has proved reliable throughout prototype and pre-production trials and expectations are high.
During the design and development stages, we received good help and support from both Kawasaki and their local distributor, Quality Hydraulics".
The Kawasaki pump is continuously rated at 320bar and also offers a range of integral control options including torque limit, pressure compensation, load sensing, pilot and electrically operated displacement controls.
Kawasaki will be exhibiting at the Hanover Messe from 7th to 12th April 2003 on Stand 21 D10.
