The RGS rapid guide screw is a value-priced device claimed to offer exceptional linear speed, accurate positioning and long life.

With Kerk's wide range of available leads, speeds of more than 1.5m/s are possible, rivalling belts and cables while offering superior positioning accuracy, repeatability and axial stiffness.

This screw-driven slide is ideal for various applications, including medical, data storage, semiconductor, optical and photonic equipment and instruments.

The RGS offers many benefits for high speed printing, scanning and engraving, especially over long lengths.

It can also be used for actuation and positioning in transportation applications, pick and place mechanisms and most automated equipment; even free-standing docking mechanisms for transfer between machines.

Including a precision aluminium guide and carriage, the Kerk RGS slide is driven by a precision-rolled stainless-steel lead screw.

The moving surfaces include Kerkite high-performance polymers on Kerkote TFE coating.

The RGS has a unique, compact profile, providing outstanding torsional stiffness and stability for its size and weight, and the integral mounting base allows support over the entire length of the slide if desired.

The RGS comes standard with a wear-compensating, antibacklash driven carriage, and additional driven or passive carriages can be added with application-specific customisation.

Lengths up to 2.4m are readily manufactured, and longer lengths are available by special order.

Also available are Kerk's RGS linear guides without drive screws, and all configurations offer plug-and-play convenience with the performance and value expected from Kerk Motion Products.
