Flowmeter majors on hygene

A Krohne product story

One of the most widely used and cost effective devices for accurate liquid and gas flow measurement in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industry is Krohne's direct reading VA30 flowmeter.

One of the most widely used and cost effective devices for accurate liquid and gas flow measurement within the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industry is Krohne's direct reading variable area (VA) 30 flowmeter.

Designed as a specialised food-grade meter, the VA30 flowmeter is ideal for use in hygiene sensitive areas.

All wetted parts are made from stainless steel or other FDA approved materials and all standard connections appropriate to the food and pharmaceutical industry, such as dairy screw connections can be fitted.

A high temperature-resistant, stress-free borosilicate glass cone permits direct viewing of the measuring float and, consequently, a direct reading of the flow.

This lends itself to close observation exercises such as batching additives or filter monitoring.

The VA30 is a Class 1 accuracy flowmeter and has a measuring range of 16-10,000/lh, with a turn-down ratio of 10:1.

It conforms to VDE/VDI Code 3513 and has a millimetre scale positioned on the internal glass cone.

In addition, a replaceable scale with flow units can be fitted to the housing and both cones and floats are replaceable.

Krohne's VA30 is suitable for use in hazardous areas and can withstand process temperatures up to 150°C and pressures up to 10bar.

It also allows the fitting of two adjustable limit switches, which will initiate an electric signal on a preset flow value being reached.

The VA30 requires minimal maintenance and combines proven technology with Krohne's crucial understanding of the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, to provide an effective solution for measuring flow within a hygienic environment.
