Level sensor monitors naphthalene
Naphthalene has a very low di-electric constant of around 2.2 at 100C, which makes it particularly difficult to measure.
Flowmeter improves wax production
The wax flowing through the flowmeter can vary in density from 0.8 to 1.0kg/litre and in viscosity from 5.5 to 1200cP.
She was joined by directors and other members of staff as she initiated the calibration process on the company's award winning Optimass Coriolis mass flowmeter.
Krohne has grown to become the Krohne group's global centre of excellence for the development and support of Coriolis mass flowmeter technology.
The company now exports over 90% of the products it manufactures, which it services and supports worldwide.
From its UK base, the company also provides sales and technical support for the complete range of flow, pressure, temperature and level measurement instruments manufactured by the Krohne group's other divisions.
Krohne has made a number of significant technical advances over the 30 years it has been in the UK.
Its research and development team created the world's first commercial single straight-tube Coriolis mass flowmeter - a development that paved the way for the launch of the Optimass range of Coriolis mass flowmeters.
The company's achievement in developing the Optimass was recently recognised when it was awarded the coveted Queen's Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2005.
The Optimass family of flowmeters has evolved substantially and can now be used across a diverse range of industries including food, pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas, steel and mining.
Production at Krohne's state-of-the-art manufacturing and test facility has more than doubled recently to cope with increased global demand for its products.
"Over the past 30 years Krohne has invested to push the boundaries of innovation to develop better, more accurate flow measurement technologies to meet the demands of our growing customer base", said Trevor Fawcett, Managing Director of Krohne.
"We are looking forward to repeating this success over the next 30 years".
