Pressure transducer handles extreme temperatures

A Kulite Sensors product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 22, 2006

A novel transducer combines patented low cost leadless silicon technology with a miniature water cooled jacket to provide pressure measurement capabilities previously unavailable.

Designed to deliver both dynamic and static pressure measurements in extreme temperature environments such as automotive and turbine exhaust systems, the new EWCT-312 (M) compact water cooled pressure transducer from Kulite Sensors combines Kulite's patented low cost leadless silicon technology and a miniature water cooled jacket to provide pressure measurement capabilities previously unavailable.

Including an integrated amplifier, the new EWCT-312 (M) delivers a high bandwidth of above 30kHz.

Pressure range is 7bar.

Operational mode is absolute sealed gauge, overpressure is twice rated pressure, burst pressure is three times rated pressure.

Devices are designed to be compatible with exhaust gases and fluids and other media compatible with SiO2 and 15-5 PH stainless steel.

Operating temperature range is -20 to +85C (amplifier and cable); steady acceleration is 10,000g (maximum); linear vibration is 10-2000Hz sine 100g (maximum).
