KUKA Automation + Robotics is building on a busy order book and expanding its UK sales team.

KUKA Automation + Robotics is building on a busy order book and expanding its UK sales team.

Four new robot sales specialists have joined the Halesowen-based company which has won significant levels of new business in recent months from a wide range of manufacturers in the aerospace, automotive, construction materials and metal working sectors.

Steve King, who has many years' experience in selling capital equipment, has taken charge of robot sales in the food and logistics industries, and Stephen O'Reilly has moved from the aerospace industry to take responsibility for selling KUKA's CAMRob software systems.

Ian Walker has brought a wealth of sales expertise to the team, having previously worked for global system integrator Haden Drysys International for 14 years.

Jonathan Grey, a Robot Technician with KUKA for 5 years, has joined the group from the service department.

Paul Richards, KUKA's General Sales Manager who heads up the seven-strong national team, said the new appointments are the latest phase in KUKA's expansion programme.

"The sales team is growing because KUKA continues to secure significant levels of new business across a wide variety of industries which not only include traditional sectors such as automotive but also in new areas like aerospace, food manufacture and logistics", explained Richards.

"The very latest industrial robot technology means automation can transform almost any manual application into a high-speed operation".

"More manufacturers are now recognising that robots are valuable and versatile assets for a huge range of tasks", he added.
