Sensor gives true valve feedback

A KV product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 11, 2002

Unlike traditional solenoid valves, where an LED signal only indicates the solenoid valve is receiving power, KV's extension to its range of solenoid valves, now provides true positional feedback.

Unlike traditional solenoid valves, where an LED signal only indicates the solenoid valve is receiving power, KV's extension to its range of solenoid valves, now provides true positional feedback indicating the valve is actually in its "open" or "closed" position.

The solenoid valve uses an inductive sensor, mounted into the solenoid itself, and senses the movement of the armature/plunger, thus guaranteeing the valve function.

Available as an option on any of the KV latching solenoids including Picosol, Microsol, Minisol and Bacosol, with functionality offering 2/2 or 3/2, a wide variety of mounting configurations and orifice sizes varying between 0.5 and 8mm.

This unique feature is ideally suited to applications where the valve functionality is critical to the process.

Applications include safety critical shut off valves, instrumentation or sampling processes.

KV also offers a complete systems solution capability whereby customers valving and sampling needs can be supplied in a single, pretested, fully assembled and preset "plug and play", control module designed specifically to meet customers needs.

This approach, now becoming widely accepted as the most cost effective solution, has been developed to its optimum by KV.
