ATEX Flameproof Glands meet the requirements for areas with potentially explosive atmospheres with an operating temperature range from -60 to +80C.
They have full BASEEFA certification to Ex II 2 GD E Exd IIc E Exe II IP66 and comply with EN500 15:1997 plus amendments 1 and 2, EN500 18:2000, EN50019:2000.
With the appropriate conduit, these glands make short, cable runs very effective in hazardous areas, over and above using armoured cable and traditional hazardous area glands.
Available in both brass and stainless steel, the Atex Flameproof Gland is compatible for use with the Kopex Liquid Tight Flexible Metallic conduits and Stainless Steel Liquid Tight Flexible conduits.
Both glands are straight, fixed male connectors, have nylon seals and use an epoxy resin to ensure a high quality internal flameproof sealing.
The new ATEX requirements are satisfied using an inspectable pot which allows for the repair of any voids in the putty.
The ATEX Flameproof Gland comes in a range of sizes with metric threads in brass 20 to 63mm, all available from stock, and NPT in brass from 0.5 to 2in threads.
The glands are also available in stainless steel as a special in metric and NPT thread forms.
