IR thermometers use DSP for high
temperatures
Hand-held portable infra-red thermometers use the latest digital signal processing techniques to provide precision temperature readings within the range 550 to 3000C.
The Cyclops 100 portable infra-red thermometer from Land Instruments is available in two models versions - Cyclops 100 and Cyclops 100B Both provide wired RS232C serial communications

The precision reflex optical system gives a narrow field of view (180:1, to 98% energy) permitting clearly defined measurement of high temperature targets as small as 4.8mm at 1m distance.
Targets as small 0.4mm diameter can also be measured using optional close-up lenses.
The short operating waveband (1.0um), with spectral filtering, has been chosen to reduce errors due to uncertainty in emissivity and the effects of atmospheric vapour components.
With an extended emissivity compensation up to 1.20, the C100 can be programmed to provide reflectivity compensation for measuring targets in hotter surroundings.
Choice of data logged outputs is provided.
It has classic, historical and burst mode (up to 35 readings/s) data logging to the optional DL-1000 Data Logger software via a wired connection to HP IPaq or PCs and laptops.
The C100B provides Bluetooth wireless data logging to the DL-1000.
Features include no contamination, interference or damage to the process or material.
Applications are in steel, glass, refractories, heat treatment and semiconductors. Request a free brochure from Land Instruments International ...
