Sampler provides continuous emissions monitoring

A Land Instruments International product story

The heated filter, sample drier and combined filter/drier of the Unicorn flue gas sampler can be installed in different configurations to suit any analyser.

The Unicorn flue gas sampler from Land Instruments International is designed for continuous monitoring of emissions with moderate particulate content from gas turbines and similar combustion systems.

It consists of three modular units - heated filter, sample drier and combined filter/drier - which can be installed in different configurations to suit any analyser requiring high-performance gas sampling.

Compact, lightweight and weatherproof, the Unicorn modules can be fitted almost anywhere, at the sample point or adjacent to the analyser.

Because the sampler operates independently, no user interface or communications connection is required.

The heated filter, which uses a large area, heated ceramic filter to clean the hot sample gas, removes even the smallest particles.

It can be set to 180 or 280C, depending on the gas composition.

Maintenance is easy, with only one tool needed to remove the probe tube.

The sample drier has a two-stage Peltier cooler to rapidly lower the temperature of the sample gas to 3C, condensing all the excess moisture without compromising the integrity of the sample.

An automatic pump removes the condensate through an outlet which is heated to prevent the liquid freezing in low ambient temperatures.
