The RD298 Shocklog is a fully programmable, re-usable electronic event data recorder and is used throughout industry to help companies reduce the cost of damage to goods, whether in production, transit or storage.
Packed full of features, the RD298 lets users know when, where and how a product has suffered an event outside preset thresholds, and real-time date stamping provides detailed arbitration evidence.
With the new upgrade package, vibration monitoring can be achieved using g-RMS (g root mean square) analysis.
The g-RMS shows the vibration and shock energy to which the Shocklog has been subjected.
This means that Shocklog can now be used for a variety of tasks including evaluating life expectancy of products being monitored and recording the relative measurements between modes of transport or systems used.
Engineers at Lamerholm have incorporated the latest software signal processing techniques so instead of the application being power hungry, the product has a long battery life.
Other features include three new channels of information in the downloaded data files enabling the user to compare peak and g-RMS acceleration across all three axes of movement, a zoom and scroll facility, export feature for further analysis and HPT slot alarms.
The memory management tool makes setting up and using the Shocklog a much easier operation.
Users now have the ability to determine how they allocate memory so can make more memory available in areas that give them most concern.
Also, the new auto-threshold facility assists customers in setting alarm and warning thresholds by offering new automatic incrementing of thresholds as events occur.
Shocklog has been used throughout the world to safeguard aerospace products, power generation equipment, medical instrumentation and world renowned artwork.
