A Laidler Associates product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 7, 2000

Laidler Associates has expanded with the employment of two technical advisors, Ray Flynn and Brent Hudson who are recognised within their fields

In the competitive world of small business, Laidler Associates Consulting Service Ltd stands out as an example of success and growth.

After identifying a sector of high technology, the company has grown substantially in the two years since it was formed and continues to do so.

Laidler Associates provide machinery safety system related training, advisory and project management services.

Their collective experience of helping businesses to find the most cost-effective route to compliance is probably unmatched by any other consultancy.

An independent company, Laidler Associates Consulting Service Ltd.

has the foresight and flexibility to expand and cope with new initiatives created by commercial and legislative demands The latest expansion comes with the employment of two technical advisors, Ray Flynn and Brent Hudson who are recognised within their fields.

Ray and Brent are the fourth and fifth employees to be taken on during the last 12 months, following on from the employment of Chris Norris as Marketing Executive, and Senior Engineers Bill Raine and Arthur Armstrong.

A test lab facility has also been built at their Belasis Business Centre head office, increasing the level of services that Laidler Associates can offer.

Laidler Certification, a subsidiary of Laidler Associates, has Notified Body Status for virtually all aspects of the Machinery Directive, allocated by the European Commission and recognised by the DTI (number 0870).

Having this status allows Laidler Associates to offer advice and assistance to manufacturers and users of virtually any type of machine.

There are a very limited number of companies with this status in the UK and it is a sign of the standard of staff and facilities that Laidler Associates have put together that they have this status.

Laidler Associates are also heavily involved in the Semiconductor industry and Managing Director Paul Laidler is Chairman of the S10 Global Task Force that is updating risk assessment standards for this industry.

Paul is not alone in this, as many of the employees and associates sit on various international committees and are known throughout the world for their expertise in their particular field.

Throughout the summer, Laidler Associates are presenting a series of interactive Machine Safety Workshops throughout the UK in conjunction with three other leading companies, Pilz (suppliers of automation and control products), Procter Machinery Guarding and LC Automation (distributors of control and safety products).

An interactive case study including Vitrual Reality technology provides the practical steps to achieve compliance with machinery Directive, CE Marking and PUWER regulations.

"The demand for our services has grown significantly in the two years since we set up the company, hence the need for the expansion", said Paul Laidler, Managing Director of Laidler Associates.

"The expansion will enable us to offer even better customer service, whilst opening up new avenues to work in".
