Risk management for mobile work equipment
Laidler Associates has launched a module for its Risk Management software system covering Part III of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER): Mobile Work Equipment.
Mobile 'phones are just one element of the Electromagnetic Field (EMF) spectrum which also includes microwaves, radio waves, satellite radio and various industrial and medicinal applications.
Daily exposure can come from appliances such as TVs, microwave ovens, PC monitors and even overhead powerlines.
Laidler Associates have recently gained the resources necessary to evaluate what impact EMF may be having on an environment.
The equipment is currently being used to test Swiss railways, UK TV masts and airfield control towers in Croatia to name a few applications.
The move into this field is the result of a significant investment for Laidler Associates, but one that they feel is justified.
"Public awareness is growing rapidly at the moment", said Senior Engineer and EM expert Arthur Armstrong.
"This issue is one that will only grow in importance until definite answers can be given.
By using this equipment, we can tell the client exactly what fields exist in an environment and advise them on 'safe' limits for working practices." This testing provides an impartial and independent view, which may be of significance to local authorities who deal with various environmental issues for housing, schooling etc. Request free introductory details about products from Laidler Associates ...
