Risk management for mobile work equipment
Laidler Associates has launched a module for its Risk Management software system covering Part III of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER): Mobile Work Equipment.
Audits ensure PUWER compliance
To fully comply with PUWER, any new equipment should be inspected after installation and before it is put into use to make sure it is safe.
The workshops are aimed at project engineers responsible for machinery, designers of safety control circuits and those responsible for ensuring machinery meets current safety regulations.
Through the use of an interactive case study each workshop provides the practical steps to be taken to achieve compliance with Machinery Directive, CE Marking and PUWER regulations.
Contents include: a description of one method of risk assessment which can be applied to equipment; an insight into the most common EN standards used in the mechanical and electrical design of machinery; an introduction to the requirements from EN standards with relation to guarding, door interlocks, light curtains and safety control systems, which will also be applied to the virtual reality machine; a discussion group and questions and answers session at the end of the workshop to cover any points raised by delegates; and all responsibilities and documentation required.
Workshop dates are as follows: 2nd May Newport; 23rd May Corby; 6th June Leeds; 20th June Chippenham; 5th September Preston; 26th September Corby; 10th October Middlesborough; 24th October Chippenham; 7th November Corby; 21st November Newport; and 5th December Leeds.
