Laser Design introduces Polyworks plug-in

Laser Design has announced that the Polyworks IMalign plug-in is now available for Laser Design's line of Faro and Romer portable arm 3D laser scanners.
Innovmetric's Polyworks software is a package for point cloud digitising, dimensional analysis, comparison to Cad and reverse engineering applications.
For customers who have a portable Laser Design scanner with Polyworks software, the plug-in allows the user to scan directly into the Polyworks software package providing graphical feedback of the scanning process as data is collected.
When using the Polyworks plug-in while gathering scan data from the Faro arm, the user sees the point cloud being captured from the part in real-time as the scanning process proceeds.
The screen updates to the user's viewing angle as the arm is moved around the part.
This real-time feedback allows the user to adjust the scanning speed and approach as well as showing areas where the user needs to go back and gather more data, which greatly improves the efficiency of the scanning process.
