Phase shifters boast angstrom-level resolution

A Lambda Photometrics product story

The S-303 series of high-speed phase shifters with angstrom-level resolution is available in the UK through Lambda Photometrics.

Nanopositioning specialists Physik Instrument has introduced the S-303 series of high-speed phase shifters with angstrom-level resolution.

These compact and extremely responsive systems are based on a tripod piezo drive providing up to 2um of movement.

The 25kHz resonant frequency offers submillisecond response and settling dynamics.

The shifters are designed to accommodate mirrors and other optics up to 25mm diameter and they may be mounted in any orientation.

The award winning PICMA piezo drives used in the S-303 series ensure extended lifetimes.

Both open and closed-loop models are available, capacitive sensors are used providing the highest linearity and stability.

An invar construction option will give optimal thermal stability and versions can be supplied with apertures for applications using transmission optics.

A variety of low-noise analogue and 20bit digital controllers are available to drive the new PI phase shifters.

Technical information and pricing is available in the UK through Lambda Photometrics, a PI subsidiary.
