CAD and animation integrated into simulation
Lanner Group has formed an alliance with Engineering Animation Inc (EAI) of the USA to create an innovative method of using CAD factory layout designs for simulation modelling.
Simulation technology has delivered many benefits over many years.
Now Simba - Simulation BAsed Application - extends its power and capability to a broader audience and application base, in differentiating and supporting both strategic business change initiatives as well as operational planning and support systems.
These include supply chain, customer service, and front and back office performance improvement solutions.
Simba is designed to enable the faster development and deployment of operational planning systems across industry, using the power of simulation-based 'what-if' decision support.
All applications built using Simba will now be powered by Witness.
"We have made available an industrial strength component that can be built into any application, unleashing the power of simulation technology and the best of breed Witness toolset", says David Jones, marketing director of Lanner.
Lanner expects software vendors and its power customers to license the Simba developer suite, which comprises a developer kit for authoring applications and a deployment kit for controlling the deployment and viewing, either standalone or embedded.
