Epic Solar connectors provide a quick and error-free method of connecting solar cables on site.

Lapp has released a connector for use in solar power-based installations.

The Epic Solar is a field-mountable connector developed to make the task of installing photovoltaic systems much simpler.

Epic Solar connectors provide a quick and error-free method of connecting solar cables on site.

The connector consists of a single, complete component with no parts to lose or fit incorrectly.

Installers need only crimp the cable and connect the wings for a perfect connection.

"Our new connectors will find wide applications in PV systems for connecting solar panels to down-leads, junction boxes, inverters, etc" according to Paul Blackford, Product Manager at Lapp.

"When the two halves mate there is a very positive tactile feel which will re-assure installation engineers that a successful connection has been made".

"This is really useful as many installations are in awkward or inaccessible places".

The connectors are designed for cables such as Lapp's Lapptherm Solar cables in sizes from 5.2 to 7.5mm.
