Solid Modelling 2002 sees the UK debut of Dimension, a low-cost rapid prototyping system from Stratasys on the Laser Lines (Industrial and Medical) stand.

Dimension is priced so that every design office can now afford to have its own rapid prototyping facility and gain from the associated cost savings, improved product design and reduced time to market.

Dimension is designed to run in a normal office environment being both clean and easy to use.

Catalyst software runs alongside the CAD package so parts can be sent to Dimension, just as documents are sent to a printer.

A completed part can be removed from the machine and the next started within a minute.

Designers can break away the supports while sat at their desks to reveal a strong accurate part built in ABS plastic.

These robust parts make ideal concept models but they can also be used for functional testing or finished to produce patterns for secondary processes.
