A Laser Lines (Industrial and Medical) product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 25, 2002

Janco Design has produced an exciting and unique product, the Magnum Drive, which is set to make a big impact on the handtool market.

Janco Design is a company established in bringing concept design ideas to reality.

Customers only need to express their vision to them to take the product from the prototype stage to the marketplace, cost-effectively and quickly.

The company is unique and focused, valuing the close relationships they have with their clients.

The foundations are laid and built on during the design and working processes.

However communication doesn't stop there, the company keeps in touch after work is submitted to ensure complete satisfaction and to keep one step ahead of the competition.

Janco Design's in-house resources and links with affiliated companies allow it to offer a comprehensive service to its national and international client base across a wide range of manufacturing fields.

With the help of Laser Lines (I and M), Janco Design has produced an exciting and unique product, the Magnum Drive, which is set to make a big impact on the handtool market.

During the development process accurate and durable prototype parts were required in order to prove out the revolutionary design.

With the help of Laser Lines (I and M) and its Titan FDM machine Janco Design was able to produce, in polycarbonate, a number of fully functional assemblies in a very short period of time which proved invaluable.

The technology was selected not only because the models needed to be accurate and dimensionally stable but also strong and able to stand up to rigorous field trials.

The Magnum Drive is a unique tool, it has six chambers in a revolving cylinder with the inspiration coming from the traditional revolver handgun.

What makes the Magnum superior to the other screwdrivers on the market is the idea of incorporating six screw bits in one handle.

It means an end to bits being lost - and importantly fewer tools in the toolbox.

The unique mechanism of the Magnum, gives the screwdriver its competitive edge.

The use of the Magnum comes to the test when selecting a screw bit, choosing the desired bit requires a simple turn of the revolver and a push of a slide.
