Printer prices cut by a fifth

A Laser Lines (Industrial and Medical) product story

Printing group knocks 20% off the price of Dimension BST and SST 3D printers.

The Dimension 3D Printing Group has announced that its Dimension BST 3D printer will now sell for £14,900 and the SST for £19,500.

This is a reduction of over 20%, which the firm hopes will give a wider range of manufacturers, engineers and designers access to 3D printing technology.

The BST and SST 3D printers build functional 3D prints from the bottom-up, one layer at a time.

The software imports STL files and automatically slices and orients the part, creates necessary support structures and plots a precise deposition path for the 3D printer to follow.

Whereas the BST requires users to remove manually support pieces, the SST provides a clean-station that quickly and easily removes soluble supports, thereby enabling hands-free 3D printing.

In addition to targeting traditional manufacturing markets such as aerospace, automotive and equipment, the Dimension 3D Printing Group has expanded the concept modelling marketplace, continuing to secure sales in vertical industries including education, architecture, consumer products and packaging, and industrial design.
