The Protan constant force post is further good news for clients, specifiers and contractors, offering a solution that minimises cold bridging, simplifies the installation process and maintains the integrity of the roof.
Although the science of limiting fall arrest loads to a maximum of 10kN on lightweight roof constructions is well understood by Latchways, the solution for flat roofs posed a new set of challenges for the Devizes based company.
These included the various types of insulation - in terms of thickness and compressive strength, steel decks and purlin centres.
In common with all Latchways product development, the Protan Constant Force post has been rigorously tested and evaluated.
The product is type tested, CE marked and approved for up to three users on the system at any one time.
Prior to the official launch, the Protan constant force post was successfully installed on the new Ercol distribution centre at Princess Risborough.
The roofing contractor for this prestigious project was WW Roofing and Cladding Contractors of Aylesbury Buckinghamshire.
The project confirmed the ease of installation with each post taking only 20min to fit, including the hot air welding of the factory fitted Protan weathering sleeve to the main roof sheet.
Meeting and exceeding all the required European safety legislation, Latchways constant force post and Mansafe componentry lead the industry, combining strong aesthetics with proven first time performance, reliability and long term durability.
