Spanish industrial valve manufacturer Lazaro Ituarte Internacional has won a number of contracts during 2003 to supply special purpose valves for high-profile international projects.

French engineering company Technip-Coflexip selected Lazaro Ituarte valves for the Eur 330 million Nargan 10th olefin complex cracking plant project.

The type of valves for this project range from 2500 ANSI Class 24in to motor-operated valves fitted with Rotork actuators.

The capacity and flexibility of Lazaro Ituarte made possible the development of new designs and started an international outsourcing of castings from Spain to France in order to fulfil the schedules of the project.

With a production capacity of 1,345,000t of ethylene per year, this plant will be the core unit of the gigantic 10th Complex to be built by the National Petrochemical Company of Iran (NPC) at the industrial site of Asaluyeh, on the northern coast of the Persian Gulf.

This unit will deliver the largest output of ethylene to-date in the world and will be the only large capacity steam cracker using both gas and liquid as feedstocks to produce ethylene and propylene.

BP Oil and Foster Wheeler selected Lazaro Ituarte for the supply of high-class valves (ANSI Class 600 and above) for the New Generation Oil project being developed in Spain.

These valves undergo several quality requirements under Exxon standards and Lazaro Ituarte fulfilled all the conditions as a reliable source for this materials.

Lurgi selected Lazaro Ituarte for high duty valves for the Zagros 4th methanol plant in Iran.

The concept applied in the plant was developed by Lurgi and is based on pure auto thermal reforming of natural gas with oxygen, using a purge gas from plants already existing at the location to adjust the gas quality.

The output of the plant will be of 5000t of methanol per day.
