New power factor corrected power
supplies

Lambda has added three new models to its popular DRP series of DIN-rail mounted power supplies with a 24-28V DC output, and peak power ratings of 144, 288 and 600W respectively

Lambda has added three new models to its popular DRP series of DIN-rail mounted power supplies: the DRP144-1, DRP288-1 and DRP600-1 All three units have a 24-28V DC output, and peak power ratings of 144, 288 and 600W respectively

They come with power factor correction as standard, complying with the EN61000-3-2 specification for harmonic emissions, and are ideally suited to a wide range of industrial control, instrumentation and process applications.

According to Martin Southam, Lambda's UK sales director, increasing customer demand for power supplies with built-in PFC is the driving force behind the new DRP additions.

"The DRP series has proved to be very popular.

However, the need to keep harmonic emissions to a minimum is forcing more and more designers to specify power factor correction as a 'must have' when selecting the right power supply for their applications", he said.

"Hence the new PFC models".

CE marked in accordance with both the EMC and the Low Voltage directives, the new single-phase AC-DC switch mode power supplies have a switchable 85-132/176-264V AC input making them suitable for use around the world.

Efficiencies are as high as 90%, and the shear ruggedness and robustness of the supplies make them ideal for use on the factory floor.

The DIN-rail system makes mounting very quick and easy and suits both 7.5mm and 15mm DIN-rail.

The devices just snap on to attach them safely and firmly.

Removal is equally as simple, no tools are necessary at all.

The DRP series incorporates over voltage protection and a switch-on/overload feature.

This ensures safer switch-on into highly non-linear loads with large starting currents.

As a result short-term overloads trigger current limiting rather than an immediate shutdown.

The new units satisfy the following safety and EMC approvals: EN60950, EN50081-1, -2 Class B EN55022, EN50082-1, -2, EN61000-4-2 (IEC801-2) and Level 4 EN61000-4-4. Request a free brochure from Lambda ...
