DC noise filters ideally suited to
telecom uses

Lambda has unveiled two new ranges of DC noise filters that are ideally suited to telecom applications: the compact on-board PAN 4820 and the in-line MBS48.

Lambda has unveiled two new ranges of DC noise filters that are ideally suited to telecom applications: the compact on-board PAN 4820 and the in-line MBS48 The compact PAN 4820 DC noise filter complements Lambda's industry leading PAF and PAH ranges of DC-DC converters, providing attenuated DC current output well within the limits set by EN55022 for class A and class B applications

Working in tandem with Lambda's ranges of performance beating DC-DC power converters, PAN provides the ideal solution for distributed power architectures, particularly in telecom infrastructure applications.

According to Edward Wright, Lambda's business development manager, "this means extremely smooth, very low ripple DC output from the converter filter combination.

Addition of the filter to the modules ensures easy conformance to EN55022 class A.

Class B is achieved with the addition of a small external capacitor." The PAN 4820 filter is rated at 20A, 76V DC and is suitable for convection or forced air cooling.

Designed to operate in tough environments, such as telecom base stations, the unit's operating temperature range is from -40 to 85C with convection air cooling and -40 to 100C at 1m/s2 forced air cooling.

The filter complies with safety standards UL1950, CSA950 and EN60950.

Its compact 46mm x 12.7mm x 46mm case is designed for PCB mounting.

The MBS48 DC line filter provides high attenuation for noise from low to high frequency.

Two current ratings are available: 30A and 50A.

Both models have a 48V rating (72V DC max).

The filter is housed in a metal case fitted with large stud terminal type connections.

Isolation resistance (terminal to case at 500V DC) is 500MWmin at 25C.

Operating temperature range is -25 to +85C. Request a free brochure from Lambda ...
