TDK-Lambda expands range of NV-Power supplies

A TDK-Lambda UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 8, 2009

TDK-Lambda has added four new output modules to its NV-Power range of configurable AC-DC power supplies.

Compatible with the popular NV-350 (six-slot) and NV-700 (eight-slot) platforms, these modules extend the current range's capabilities.

They meet the growing demands of the broadcast, instrumentation and medical markets, as well as other applications, such as ATE, automation, routers and servers and security networks.

Two new digitally controlled, single output, three-slot modules that meet 4kV AC reinforced isolation (for medical applications) are available: the 28C module has an adjustable output range of 27 to 32V DC and the 24CM module, which also achieves 500V AC output to earth isolation, offers 24 to 26.4V DC.

Both modules are rated at 450W continuous with 600W peaks for 10 seconds.

Accommodating lower voltages and fitting into just two slots, the 7B module covers the 7 to 9V DC range at up to 180W and delivers currents up to 22.5A.

The dual-output 6/6DB module, which also takes up two slots, provides adjustable output voltages of 5.5 to 6.5V DC at up to 25A on 'output 1' and 3.3 to 6V DC at up to 10A on 'output 2' (up to 195W total).

In addition, each module features output good and inhibit signals.

With the extended range of NV-Power modules and options now available, more output voltage and current combinations can be accommodated.

Using the TDK-Lambda NV-Power Configurator, designers can quickly create their own power-supply configuration online at the NV-Power website.

This tool checks the designer's chosen configuration and offers the optimum solution with fully approved samples available on short lead times.

Cooling is a choice of customer air or low-noise temperature-controlled fans.

Additionally, the NV350 is available with reverse air cooling.

Low-profile output connectors allow maximum airflow for optimised cooling efficiency.

All outputs are fully isolated and no minimum load is required.

Products in the TDK-Lambda NV-Power range are approved to IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 for general-purpose applications and IEC/EN 61010-1 for laboratory and process-control applications, as well as IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 for medical applications.

In addition, all NV-Power units carry the CE mark, according to the LV Directive, and come with a three-year warranty.
