LC Automation describes its new website as the definitive online resource for motion control, automation and safety professionals "It's much more than just a shop window for LC Automation's product range", explains Sales Director Malcolm Chadwick, "It's designed to be the first port-of-call for engineers who want to stay up to date with what's new and happening in the world of motion control, automation and safety"

AS-Interface is standard bus and safety bus in one
The AS-Interface is by far the simplest networking system for low level field devices, says Ken Davies, Managing Director of LC Automation.
In addition to providing advice and guidance on product selection, lcautomation.com features an extensive information zone that will be of real benefit to engineers, as well as an e-quote facility that allows users to request an online quote.
The information zone is divided into sections including health and safety, training, added value services, manufacturers' catalogues and technical support.
Importantly, technical support is available to any registered user of the site, whether or not they currently buy from LC Automation.

AS-interface systems on show
AS-i Tech 2003 is the show dedicated to AS-interface systems, solutions and technologies in the industrial networking and communications environment.
Chadwick says; "We have published full technical support contact details on the site, so users can choose to contact us by e-mail, telephone, fax or post whichever is easiest for them".
One of the most important sections of the information zone covers health and safety.
Here users can find details of training courses and seminars, a range of official publications (and how to obtain them), links to useful web sites such as the BSI and HSE, and an extensive list of both British and European Standards.
In line with the way in which LC Automation structures its business, there are separate sections of the website relating to motion control, automation and safety.
Each section includes all the information users need to begin selecting the best products for their specific applications and, of course, extra assistance is always available from the technical support team if they need it.
When users have finished compiling a parts list, it can be sent directly to LC Automation using the online e-quote facility.
They will quickly receive a detailed quotation, together with the relevant datasheets if requested.
In the future, the e-quote feature will be developed into a comprehensive e-commerce facility.
Unlike other websites that are constructed but rarely updated, LC Automation is looking to revise the site's content on a weekly basis, so there are plenty of reasons for visitors to keep coming back for more.
To help users find out what's new, there is a direct link to the newsdesk from the home page.
LC Automation carried out considerable research to find out what customers wanted from a distributor website and the result is a direct reflection of this.
Chadwick sums it up, by saying: "The LC Automation website provides engineers and buyers with all the information they told us they really wanted, not what a web designer thought they needed". Request free introductory details about products from LC Automation ...
