The Guardscan GS-120 is billed as the ideal, low-cost safety light curtain option for low- to medium-risk applications.

LC Automation supplies the full range of Guardscan safety light curtains, but often finds that customers are paying more for unnecessary features and capabilities that they really don't require in their specific applications.

That is why the company reckons the Guardscan GS-120 is such a great product.

Specifically designed for use in low- to medium-risk applications, it offers the robust build quality and reliability expected from Guardscan, but at a substantially lower cost.

It saves money by only providing the features and benefits really needed and offers a cost-effective alternative for category 3 situations, as defined by EN954-1 (EN61496 Type 2), where the advanced capabilities of the company's B Series light curtain system are not required.

It also offers additional benefits such as redundant category 3 outputs which make the GS-120 easier to interface than a category 2 system, as there is no need for an automatic periodic test and evaluation to ensure its safety integrity.

The GS-120 is also available with cross-monitored PNP outputs or AS-Interface compatible, volt-free, solid-state relay outputs, making it suitable for almost any type of interface.

In addition to the standard LED displays, the Guardscan GS-120 light curtain system has an optional alphanumeric diagnostic display.

This diagnostic display gives information about the operating mode, output status, obstructed beam etc, or identification of external faults like short-circuited outputs.

Available in a variety of curtain lengths from 200 to 1800mm, with detection capabilities of either 30 or 70mm, the GS-120 is ideal for detecting hands or torsos.
