LC Automation has taken what it described as an extensive range of high performance Westermo products in to its portfolio are now available, making Westermo LC's 21st franchised supplier.

Westermo manufactures industrial data communication products that are specifically designed to perform in the harshest industrial environments ensuring reliable data transmission, reducing errors and downtime said LC.

The Westermo range now available at LC Automation includes telephone modems, serial adapters, industrial Ethernet routers and Ethernet switches, as well as a range of cables and adapters for connection to several different PLCs.

including Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley.

Full details of the range available, including prices, application notes and datasheets can be downloaded from the Westermo page on the LC Automation website.

Nigel Dean, LC Automation's Marketing Manager said he is impressed with the new development, adding: "LC Automation has always strived to be a one stop shop for customers, so the quality and breadth of our product range is really important".

"With Westermo on board we are now one step nearer our goal, expanding the LC Automation product portfolio even further".

When asked why Westermo wanted to start supplying LC Automation, Dean explained: "Westermo and the other suppliers who have recently joined LC Automation see our overall level of service and support as a real bonus to their current operations".

"A customer relationship with LC Automation doesn't end with the sale, and it's good to see that our suppliers, as well as our customers, really appreciate that".

He continued by saying that Westermo's products include attractive features such as galvanic isolation to prevent noise and ground loops in industrial data communications systems.

Tri-galvanic isolation is the electrical separation of both sides of the communication circuits from the power supply and is vital to provide totally reliable communications.

He added that Westermo uses diodes, Sidactors and gas discharge tubes to prevent damage caused by transients or noise spikes that are often present on signal and power lines.

He also said that LC's quality standards require the use of components that will enhance performance within industrial applications.

All Westermo electrical contacts are gold plated to offer superior resistance to corrosion.

In addition, all Westermo products are designed to industrial, not consumer, electromagnetic immunity requirements.

They are also designed to operate correctly within EMC fields of over 10V/m while still complying with EMC emission levels acceptable in office and home environments, it is claimed.
