The London Technology Network has organised an event on "Integrating technology and industrial design in automotive and consumer electronics accelerating design cycles and cutting costs".

The London Technology Network has organised an event on "Integrating technology and industrial design in automotive and consumer electronics accelerating design cycles and cutting costs", on Wednesday, 16th June 2004 at The Design Council, London.

The automotive and consumer electronics industries both rely heavily on new, innovative products in order to stay competitive.

But despite the fact that a lot of companies create great technologies, they do not package them in a way that realises their full commercial potential.

Additionally, the trend to move production East has turned the label "designed in the UK" into a far more commercially powerful driver than "made in the UK".

This event will give you unique access to London's academic intellectual brilliance and special knowledge assessing cutting-edge research and latest developments in these highly competitive markets.

Presenters will include: Dr Ricardo Martinez-Botas, Senior Lecturer, Mechanical Engineering, Imperial College London; Paul Turnock, Director, Industrial Design and Systems Engineering, Brunel University; Dr Toshio Nomura, Director, Systems Architecture, Sharp Laboratories of Europe; and Stuart Kitson, Chief Engineer, Holset Engineering Company (part of Cummins).
