Low weight compact lubrication and scavenge pumps
Lee Products is now able to offer custom designed lubrication and scavenge pumps for applications which require low weight within a compact envelope.
For example, installation is simple as it requires only inexpensive boss machining, it requires no safety wire or locking rings and ensures a high pressure, leak tight seal without the need for O-rings, thereby increasing system reliability.
Lee Hi-Bar plugs are rated for system pressures up to 5000lb/in2 and temperatures from -65 to +275F, although they can withstand temperatures as high as 400F at reduced pressures.
A drilled and tapped hole is all that is required along with a simple installation tool, therefore significant savings can be achieved by eliminating machining, assembly and inspection costs.
In addition to quick and simple installation, Hi-Bar plugs can be reused several times.
Sealing is achieved through the use of the controlled expansion principle found in other Lee plug devices, while matching tapers provide compressive sealing forces on multiple lands and grooves.
A self-locking feature eliminates safety wires, locking rings or other methods of anti-rotation.
The use of the Lee MultiSeal in the Hi-Bar design reduces the stresses transferred to the threads and housing, and as the thread stresses are lower, thinner walls can be used to reduce manifold weight.
Lee Hi-Bar plugs are supplied as lightweight, pre-assembled units, comprising an aluminium threaded plug and pin, combined with polyamide-imide MultiSeal. Request a free brochure from Lee Products ...
