Miniature component specialists Lee Products now offers a "made to measure" capability for mated piston and sleeve assemblies, typically used in aircraft hydraulic systems and fuel controls.

Manufacture is carried out at Lee's subsidiary company, Canyon Engineering based in California, USA.

Canyon's expertise in speciality hydraulic fluid control components, combined with the current weak dollar, makes this capability particularly attractive to companies seeking to source high quality engineering components, while reducing production costs.

These assemblies are typically manufactured from stainless steel and mated to 0.00015in diametral clearance.

Canyon Engineering has recently built a new 6500m2 facility and invested in state-of-art manufacturing and test equipment.

For example, this new facility includes several test stands dedicated to MIL H 83282 hydraulic oil, Skydrol, MIL L 23699 lube oil and MIL PRF 7024 calibrating fluid and therefore has the capability to test piston and sleeve subassemblies if required.
