Miniature insert orifice saves weight and space

A Lee Products product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 10, 2008

Lee Products has released a 2.5mm insert-style orifice.

The Lee IMH 2.5mm orifice is designed for liquids and gases.

It is flow tested on water (nitrogen for the gas version) to ensure every part is within +/- five per cent of its nominal flow rate.

This ensures a more consistent system performance and reduces the need for system rework.

Flow tolerances as tight as this are only possible if entrance and exit conditions of the orifice are closely controlled.

This ensures greater accuracy than an orifice specified by hole tolerance.

The 2.5mm orifice is made of stainless steel and is available in a range of Lohm rates.

Selected models are available with an integral safety screen.

Lee Product's controlled expansion principle provides retention and creates a leak-tight seal that prevents bypass leakage.

The orifice should be inserted into a drilled hole before driving an expansion pin into the orifice body to seal and securely lock it into place.
