New markets and the desire to offer increased service levels have led LEM to restructure its channels to market in the UK.

The advent of new applications for current measurement and the development by LEM of new technologies to offer solutions to new markets has changed the company's emphasis from serving the needs of its traditional markets, such as power electronics, to that of pioneering change in the industrial automation and railway infrastructure markets The nature of these new markets and LEM's desire to offer customers increased service levels and access to market-leading specialists with years of application knowledge has led LEM to restructure its channels to market in the UK

The company has retained its existing distributor, Routeco, to concentrate on the industrial automation market.

It has also appointed Magnetec, distribution sister company to Semelab, to focus on the power electronics market, and Rowe Hankins to handle the railway infrastructure market.

This new approach to servicing customers in the UK gives a more focused supply channel and uses the strengths of Routeco, Rowe Hankins and Magnatec in their respective markets.

With over 25 years experience in the industrial automation market, Routeco has the experience and range of products not only to supply the correct product but also to offer advice on configuration of a complete automation solution.

It will handle a wide range of LEM products, including the recently introduced AP and APR split-core current transducers, based on the company's Prime technology.

Rowe-Hawkins will be responsible for LEM's established ranges of rail trackside monitoring equipment from the Laser suite of products, which includes Pointsenz, Relaysenz and Eventsenz.

With over 20 years experience of supplying the railway industry, Rowe Hankins has the experience to ensure that the railway benefits from this unique range of products, which has been designed in conjunction with railway engineers.

Magnatech understands the design-in, down to board level, of power electronics components.

It will handle distribution of high-volume components such as LEM's LTSR closed-loop current transducers and HX open-loop, low-current transducers.
