Following several years of working closely together, LEM has acquired the majority shareholding in Universal Technic.

Following several years of working closely together, LEM has acquired the majority shareholding in Universal Technic The acquisition significantly extends LEM's range of probes by adding valuable expertise in the development of current probes based on AC transformer technology to LEM's well-established AC and DC probe business, allowing it to offer a complete range of standard and custom products

Universal Technic, based in Paris, specialises in the development, production and sales of current probes.

Founded in 1975, it has an average sales level of Euro 2 million per year, of which exports accounted for 80%.

The integration of Universal Technic will allow LEM Probes to offer the widest current probe range available in the market.

The products cover current ratings from 1mA to 3600 A, frequency ranges from DC to 50MHz, with a very wide range of housings offering apertures from 5 to 115mm.

The companies' combined expertise includes: Hall effect closed and open loop; fluxgate field detection for low current measurement; Rogowski and transformer techniques for AC-only current measurement; and high-frequency transformer techniques.

LEM Probes, based in the United Kingdom and a business unit of LEM Ventures, has 20 years of experience in the development and production of standard and custom current probes.

The principal markets for its products are: automotive diagnostics; accessories for test and measurement of electrical parameters; and the management and distribution of electricity (AC monitoring).

Thanks to LEM's strong international reputation and global presence, LEM Probes exports original solutions worldwide and has privileged relationships with the main companies in the market.

The entity exports its products worldwide and has achieved a compound annual average growth rate of 15% over the past few years.

Ahmet Selcuk, Business Unit Manager, commented, "This acquisition strengthens LEM's position as a leader in the AC monitoring market for the analysis and maintenance of electricity distribution networks, and allows us to offer global market coverage.

The complementary product ranges, coupled with the sharing of technical expertise and production facilities, offer significant advantages for the development of LEM Probes".
