Power analyser has big bandwidth

A LEM Instruments product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 2, 2002

The Norma 3000 power analyser provides precise measurement of current, voltage and electrical power on distorted signals.

The Norma 3000 power analyser provides precise measurement of current, voltage and electrical power on distorted signals.

Thanks to its compact dimensions, the analyser suited to both mobile and benchtop use.

The new analyser uses a subset of LEM's proprietary HBA high bandwidth architecture, allowing it to achieve an impressive bandwidth of up to 1MHz, allowing complete measurements of all signals.

The Norma 3000 disposes of measuring ranges of up to 1000V for voltage measurements and of 10A for the internal current measurement.

By connecting an external current shunt or transducer, currents can be measured up to the kiloamp range, allowing measurements to be made over a very wide power range.

As with all power analysers from LEM, accuracy is guaranteed over a calibration interval of 24 months.

A simple key press switches between a numerical display, a graphical analysis window for FFTs and a digital oscilloscope.

Due to the large bandwidth and the fact that even mechanical variables can be measured with this power analyser, the main application areas of the Norma 3000 are in motion control and lighting engineering.

A built-in RS232 interface enables firmware uploads and data exchange with a PC.

A companion PC tools and driver CD provides an ActiveX connection to Excel.
