Inverters play part in taking advantage
of ECA

Lenze inverter drives in plant installations can deliver energy savings frequently up to 50% and more, useful for the UK Government ECA (Enhanced Capital Allowance) Scheme

Recently introduced legislation which comes into force in 2001, called the UK Government ECA (Enhanced Capital Allowance) Scheme will allow companies to write off up to 100% of the cost of energy saving installations using approved inverter drives such as those available from Bedford based Lenze Limited Qualifying installations are those involving fluid handling, particularly pumps and compressors, fans and HVAC equipment

Lenze inverter drives, as part of such plant installations can deliver energy savings frequently up to 50% and more.

It is savings of this magnitude that has driven the Government to introduce the legislation in order to encourage companies to install the plant and thus contribute to the national effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The ECA allows companies who purchase qualifying equipment to offset the cost of the inverter and any other directly related capital costs against their tax liability.

Where the inverter is part of a larger piece of equipment, the company can claim on the basis of published allowances according to the inverter power.

Lenze inverters range from 0.25 to 110kW which covers the vast majority of industrial and commercial applications.

Purchasers gain in two ways.

In addition to the tax allowance advantage, major reductions in electricity bills can give payback periods as short as one year. Request a free brochure from Lenze ...
