Until now, integrating the software tools used in one machine process required a great amount of engineering effort, but this has now changed with the arrival of the OPC Drive Server from Lenze.

Until now, integrating the software tools used in one machine process required a great amount of engineering effort.

This has now changed with the arrival of the OPC Drive Server from Lenze.

The OPC Driver Server is a software package which greatly simplifies communication in drive related machine systems.

It can be described as the 'printer driver' for automation and thus opens up completely new prospects.

The Drive Server is a software tool and forms the interface between electrical drives and the various tools used in automation, visualisation, programming, bus configuration and parameterisation of devices.

Both the bus systems for data transmission and the servo drives and frequency inverters can be selected freely, allowing the designer to specify 'best in class' devices and not be tied to a single supplier.

In operation, the Drive Server is invisible, translating and transmitting data between the drives and the control system.

Drive data is available at all times, both in the visualisation and the control system.

This information can be forwarded via the Intranet or Internet, meaning that global remote diagnostics are a practicable possibility.
