Cost-effective collars and couplings

A Lenze product story

A new range of simple, low-cost machine building elements is now available from stock at Lenze.

A new range of simple, low-cost machine building elements is now available from stock at Lenze.

The range, which includes easy-to-fit shaft collars for clamp mounting and rigid couplings for connecting two shafts with equal bores, combines machined quality with ex-stock availability.

Manufactured by the Ruland Corp in the USA, both the collars and the couplings feature either a split one-piece construction, or two-piece construction with bolt connection.

Despite their simple design, both the collars and couplings are built to the highest standards.

For example, all collars are marked to indicate which face is machined exactly square to the bore and the clamp screws feature anti-vibration nylon patches.

This attention to detail and quality allows for a reliable, even clamping action that does not damage shafts.

The range is available in mild steel or stainless steel, with collar sizes ranging from 3 to 50mm and rigid couplings ranging from 6 to 50mm.

With reference to the new range, Geoff Spear, Marketing Manager at Lenze, said: "We are delighted to offer the Ruland range of collars and couplings to our customers, many of whom will profit from the wide range of benefits it provides".
