Software options extend Servo PLC
functionality

Following the success of the Lenze Servo PLC, which combines PLC functionality with a servo drive, Lenze has launched three new software options The new software packages feature configured motion functions that not only allow users to make considerable savings in design time but also facilitate faster commissioning

By including the intelligence and processing power for these functions in the drive, modularity of the machine is improved and considerable savings in communication and build costs are made.

The first of the three new software packages is for positioning.

Ideally suited to applications such as pick and place, robots and machine tools, the software provides up to 128 freely programmable drive profiles.

The second software package, CamDesigner, allows drives to follow complex arcs in a similar way to a mechanical cam quickly and easily; with the option to store up to 48 curves.

Typical applications for the CamDesigner software include contouring, packaging and filling machinery.

The third option, a new winder software package suits unwinds and rewinds and is ideally suited to dancer-arm control and cable laying.

All the software options use IEC61131-3 standards, with five different programming languages available.

The software is designed so that engineers already familiar with PLC programming will easily be able to adapt to programming the drives with Lenze's cost-effective DDS Drive Developer Studio Software connecting drive parameters with the PLC language. Request a free brochure from Lenze ...
