Lenze's range of brake motors is now available off-the-shelf for same or next day delivery, in sizes up to 132 frame.
The standard IEC frame motors are fitted with spring-applied, power-to-release brakes at the non-drive end to ensure that any interruption to motor power automatically delivers brake engagement.
The brake motors are ideal for applications where machinery needs to be stopped quickly and safely, or where there is an out of balance load that needs to be held; for example with hoists.
The Lenze range offers frame sizes from 56 to 132 in two-, four- and six-pole speeds, as well as B3 foot, B5 flange and B14 face mountings.
All the models in the range feature Lenze's popular BFK-458 brake providing multi-spring safety together with low wear and high repeatability.
The highest power available from stock is 9.3kW.
Lenze's brake motors are enclosed to IP54, although increased protection to IP65 is possible.
The units accept a wide range of input voltages, for example +/-10% at 400V/50Hz and 440V/60Hz, in order for machine builders to use the same motor in different countries.
The brakes are supplied complete with rectifier and ready for the motor to run.
For hoists and falling loads Lenze recommends the use of a separate rectifier and dc switching.
Additional brake motor options include a manual brake release, incremental encoder and forced ventilation blower.
