Vector drive "hits the ground running"
The 8200 vector drive is an ideal cost reduction platform for OEMs, following the introduction of new programming, cabling and diagnostic features that make it even easier to use and install.
Lenze reckons its 8200 vector drive is an ideal cost reduction platform for OEMs, following the introduction of new programming, cabling and diagnostic features that make the inverter even easier to use and install The new features complement the ability of the 8200 vector to act as a systems platform, performing advanced levels of control and communication in modern decentralised factory networks

Inverters: payback in 12 months in HVAC?
No matter what area of plant control you choose to scrutinise, there are few optional equipment alternatives that offer the operational benefits and cost savings of frequency inverters.
The additional functionality of the 8200 vector is a direct result of continuous evaluation undertaken by Lenze of changing customer needs, both in the OEM machine building and end-user sectors.
A strong contribution to customer competitiveness has been achieved by making the 8200 series quicker and easier to operate and commission, and also more easy to trouble shoot - the latter as a result of faster and more comprehensive diagnostic facilities.
In addition, new shielding for motor and control cables means that it is easy and fast to install the drives in-line with EMC requirements and no additional shielding parts are needed.
Heading-up the list of new features is the XT-Keypad operating module.
Offering an easy menu and plain text structure similar to that of a mobile phone, this unit is a real cost saving advantage to OEMs, as it allows drive parameters to be assigned quickly with relative ease.

Drive Server links PC control to bus systems
The new Lenze Drive Server allows multiple bus systems to share information across drive platforms.
The high level of information and clear visibility on the display also mean that more complex interface operations can be carried out on the drive, rather than having to work with a laptop or remotely via a factory automation system.
Also designed to make the OEMs life easier is another new addition, Lenze's "Global Drive Control easy" system.
An alternative to the XT-Keypad operating module, "Global Drive Control easy" is a free software package for parameter setting and drive set-up.

Simple to use and offering high levels of flexibility, the package includes predefined basic functions that save OEMs both time and money in the often-difficult task of drive commissioning.
Another major user benefit provided by Global Drive Control easy is advanced diagnostics.
The software includes a new fieldbus monitoring function and will also display the input and output status of the drive terminals.
As a result, it is able to provide advanced diagnostic functions, and greater transparency, generally, to the drive user across the full spectrum of drive operations.
The cost savings benefits gained by using the 8200 vector's commissioning software are further optimised in hardware by the drive's new system of communication modules with plug-in spring mounted terminals.
To effect wiring, these terminals are simply unplugged by hand, the wire is inserted and the terminal released to lock - its that simple and quick.
The system caters for control cables with cross-sections of 1.5mm2 and provides protection against polarity reversals on the terminals.
Simplified mounting of the 8200 vector also extends to providing all the parts needed to comply with EMC regulations.
As standard, Lenze supplies the 8200 vector with bolt-on shield plates for the control and motor cables.
Using the integrated clips on the plates, cables are easily fixed with an extensive contact area, which ensures optimal EMC behaviour and, along with correct installation, ensures safe operation.
Users of the new revised 8200 vector will "hit the ground running" as concise installation instructions and a "help on getting started" guide in five languages are both included in the standard drive package to provide support during commissioning or fault finding.
The clarity and ease of use of the documentation has been certified for Lenze by TUV and received a "DOCcert" rating.
The 8200 vector is designed for use in high- and medium-performance drive applications in the power range from up to 90kW.
The drive is distinguished by its excellent smooth running characteristics on the shaft, increased dynamic response and a wider range of adjustment to suit varying operating conditions.
The many control and communication features of the 8200 vector also mean that it is the ideal system drive, providing problem-free integration into machines and factory plant. Request a free brochure from Lenze ...
