No matter what area of plant control you choose to scrutinise, there are few optional equipment alternatives that offer the operational benefits and cost savings of frequency inverters.
Aside from saving on panel space, installation costs are reduced by the ability to connect the motor power from an energy bus of standard cabling.
Conventional methods with the drive in the panel would require individual wiring of shielded cables to each motor.
The Lenze 8200 Motec frequency inverters are enclosed to IP65 and can be mounted either on the motor or to any flat surface nearby.
They allow process optimisation - acceleration and deceleration ramps can be set by a hand-held keypad or a PC.
A Can system bus is integrated which gives the option of control from a central location.
To fit with existing factory standards, plug-in communication modules can be added, for example Profibus and AS-i.
The inverters are available as free-standing drives in a power range 0.25 to 7.5kW, alternatively as part of a geared motor from the Lenze G-motion range.
Gearboxes can be in-line helical or planetary.
Also available are right-angle helical worm, bevel and helical bevel models.
When mounted on the motor or within 2m of the motor, no shielded cabling is required and EMC limits to classes A and B are met.
