Frequency inverter cuts cost and
complexity
Sensorless vector operation allows Lenze's SMV frequency inverter to provide fast dynamic torque response and low-speed operation.
Lenze has removed costs and complexity from vector-based motor control with the added advantage of IP65 protection in the new SMV frequency inverter The enclosure allows outdoor use or in damp environments with protection against low-pressure jets

Inverters: payback in 12 months in HVAC?
No matter what area of plant control you choose to scrutinise, there are few optional equipment alternatives that offer the operational benefits and cost savings of frequency inverters.
This suits machinery such as conveyors, food production and packaging lines, also small HVAC systems.
Sensorless vector operation gives fast dynamic torque response and low-speed operation.
With a development driven by international customer feedback, the SMV range is compact and easy to operate.
An easy to use facia keypad with a choice of on-board parameter sets ensures that the basic control and set-up procedure can be completed in seconds.
In common with the existing IP20 Lenze SMD inverter drives, the SMV features a programmable plug-in memory chip.
This is easily plugged under the drive cover, allowing machine manufacturers to copy across an entire operating set in a matter of seconds.
The drive can be commissioned without turning it on.
Furthermore a drive can be exchanged by unskilled personnel by simply transferring the memory chip to the new drive.
The IP65 standard of enclosure protection removes the necessity for panel space and consequently saves costs.
This is particularly valuable where existing fixed speed machinery is to be updated to variable speed.
For example the SMV inverter can simply be bolted to the side of a conveyor, giving the operators speed control through the fascia buttons.
Compared to the alternative of mechanical variators, SMV inverters offer major savings in energy which can result in payback times of less than one year.
SMV inverters are available for single-phase supplies in a power range 0.25 to 2.2kW and for three-phase supplies up to 7.5kW.
RFI filters are built in to comply with EMC regulations.
Operating modes include standard and enhanced V/Hz (constant and variable) operation, vector speed control and vector torque control.
Motor calibration is with an auto-tune function and a range of fieldbus communications includes DeviceNet, RS485, CANopen, Ethernet and Profibus. Request a free brochure from Lenze ...
