Lenze supplies MCS servo motors for conveyors

A Lenze product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 19, 2009

German automatic handling specialist Beewen has selected Lenze MCS synchronous servo motors for customised telescopic conveyors in their storage and retrieval systems.

These double-belt conveyors are used to place and remove goods in automatic warehouses.

They are positioned by stacker crane and their design is customised according to the goods being stored.

Lenze MCS servo motors are small in size, which enables flexibility to meet customer requirements.

The telescopic conveyors are fitted with MCS motors up to 4kW in power.

The controllers are Lenze 9300 servo drives mounted on board the stacker crane.

Motors deliver up to three-times nominal torque with virtually zero cogging effects and better energy efficiency than asynchronous motors.

Direct mounting to helical, bevel and planetary gearboxes aids the mounting flexibility.

This is claimed to be further enhanced by compact dimensions such that 4kW nominal power can be delivered with a motor body section of just 110mm x 110mm.
