Toolkit puts the "auto" back into CAD

A Leonardo Computer Systems product story

A new toolkit allows users to add powerful design automation facilities to AutoCAD LT.

When AutoCAD LT was released some years ago, controversy raged when it was announced that there would be no 'design automation' facilities in what was to become the CAD workhorse of the vast majority of drawing offices.

This effectively limited LT to being an electronic drawing board, offering only simple script facilities to execute series of commands.

Now, the LT Toolkit adds programming tools to AutoCAD LT, including support for ObjectARX, ObjectDBX and AutoLISP, FAS and Visual Lisp.

These facilities offer LT users the tools to build powerful 'design automation' programs onto AutoCAD LT, such as customisation to automate repetitive tasks, and automated parametric drawing.

At a simpler level LT Toolkit also offers many simple timesaving functions like the ability to redefine the function and cursor control keys and layer creation and control via keystrokes.
